Quiz Competition for Medical Students on the Occasion of World AIDS Day.

The Government Medical College, Jagtial and Jagtial District Police conducted an awareness programme on Anti- Ragging & Anti- Drugs and Narcotics on 27th November at lecture hall in medical college campus.The medical students were sensitized towards regulatory mechanisms and institutional measures for prevention and prohibition of ragging and also providing a safe respectful ragging free and drug free welcoming learning environment.

As part of SANKALP program, we organised a training session for health-care workers aimed at reducing neonatal mortality to below 10 per 1,000 live births. The session, in collaboration with Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, brought together ASHAs and ANMs, and community health staff to strengthen skills in essential newborn care, early complication recognition, neonatal resuscitation, infection prevention, breastfeeding support, and referral processes. The session concluded with strategies to improve quality of care and data use. Overall, the training reinforced capacity and commitment toward achieving national neonatal survival targets.

World Schizophrenia Day 2025

World Schizophrenia Day Observed at Government Medical College, Jagtial.

On the occasion of World Schizophrenia Day, the Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College, Jagtial, organized an awareness program to promote understanding and reduce stigma associated with schizophrenia.

The event was graced by Dr. S.S.S. Quadri, Principal, Government Medical College, Jagtial, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Suman Rao, Medical Superintendent, as the Guest of Honour. The program included the release of awareness pamphlets focusing on early identification, treatment options, and community support for individuals living with schizophrenia.

The department emphasized the importance of creating awareness among medical professionals, students, and the general public to foster a more inclusive and compassionate approach to mental health care.
